I just realized that I have been hoarding a bathroom light fixture update for WAY too long. And I’m sure you’ve all been wondering how this riveting story ended.
I wish I had good news for you. But I don’t. We still don’t have a bathroom light fixture. This riveting story seems to have no end.
After the last fixture exploded due to the sticker touching the wire, I communicated with the vendor, returned the fixture, and waaaaaaaaaaaaaited.
After what seemed like forever, I got an email that said that the fixture was out of stock only a few weeks after we had initially ordered it. That’s right! We must have gotten the last one or something, because they didn’t have any more of them to send us.
And instead of offering us a months-long wait until it was back in stock, or providing us with some other fixture instead… they cancelled the order.
So just a quick recap: We ordered a light fixture in January, and now it is September and we still don’t have one. We have dealt with 3 different vendors, had multiple products back-ordered for months, only to be (surprise!) back-ordered for even longer. We’ve cancelled orders, chosen different fixtures, had a fixture explode, and now we’ve had one go out of stock on us with no alternative solution offered.
We give up. We’ve just been living with our $1.99 temporary light bulb holder that we used during construction. It produces light, and I refuse to produce any more complaints. It is FINE.
I mean… sure… Kyle and I talk about buying a real light fixture every once in a while. But for the most part, we just don’t talk about it. I have my feet firmly planted in the “it will happen eventually” court. There is much less stress here.
